Green Skills & Employment Initiative

A 12-month, four-component programme integrating skills development, job placement, enterprise incubation, and policy engagement for 30 young people per cycle.

Programme Structure

Four Core Components

Component A

Green Technical Skills Training

Hands-on workshops, lab sessions, and competency-based modules aligned with industry demand.

  • Solar PV installation, maintenance, and safety
  • Fundamentals of green hydrogen and future energy
  • Smart mini-grids and decentralised energy solutions
  • Digital tools for energy monitoring and decision-making
Component B

Advanced Technology Exposure

Demonstration equipment and guest lectures from renewable energy industry specialists.

  • Demonstration modules for smart mini-grid systems
  • Digital monitoring tools for energy management
  • Software for energy system simulations
  • Energy storage systems and smart grid technologies
Component C

Entrepreneurship & Business Skills

Building the soft and hard skills needed to launch and scale youth-led green enterprises.

  • Workplace readiness, leadership, and problem-solving
  • Financial literacy, costing, and basic accounting
  • Enterprise development and scaling in green industries
  • Digital literacy and professional ethics
Component D

Partnerships, Policy & Systems Engagement

Connecting youth with the ecosystems they need for sustained impact beyond the programme.

  • Collaboration with government and private sector
  • Access to innovation hubs and project engagement
  • Policy dialogue on green jobs and youth employment
  • Documentation of lessons learned

  • Aged 18–25 years
  • Priority given to female applicants
  • From underserved or marginalised communities
  • Based in Ghana (Phase I: Accra)
  • Motivated to work in the green economy
